Joe Stack about as far from Tea Party as can be.

From reading the "Manifesto", here is how I think this dude is wired.
His first gripe is that he was scammed by some "elite" tax experts who knew better then the working man and the government and was gonna use creative means to dodge taxes., I'm guessing a "cooperation sole" or "straw man" thing. BLAMMO!! 1.He gets scammed $$ 2. the IRS has it's cross hairs on him as a tax dodger and one to watch 3.he has a huge kick to his "I'm smarter than everyone" attitude.
Next, some law is passed that keeps him from charging high fees for services to corporations. This area is grey to me..but it doesn't seem fatal to his survival. Stack admittedly spent more time crying about it in "The wonderful world o lawsuits" then billing his clients.
He sobs about the 90's base closings and .COM bust and on and on.
This guy is an engineer..who wants to be rich and probably DID have the IRS watching him like a hawk for good reason.
He crashes a plane into a building full of people to get the ultimate pity party from us. wah wah.
Life is tough. and if you get a "technical" job Mr Kamikaze perhaps you should be expecting a competitive market for your skills and not expect large sums of money tossed at you just because you believe you are "smart".
Tea Party to me is about government overspending what we don't have, utilizing our resources and prosecuting our laws effectively against crime.
Stack overspent, used his resources poorly and tried to dodge the tax laws.
I'm not seeing the connection.....

Old writing from Afghanistan 2008

Everything made sense today for about 30 seconds.
Maybe it was the 105degree heat and the near glowing asphalt basketball court i was batting around a hockey puck on, but it did happen.
I skated my 35yr old ass over to the rickety Army bench near the basketball court i skate on and cracked open a water. Skating on ice much less summer in Afghanistan will sap you of all water and turn you into a living Pringle potato chip.I leaned back and downed a bottle of h2o and looked at this area of clouds that were themselves skating across the Afghan blue sky.
I stared at the wispy white clouds and forgot i was in Afghanistan. The sky in view cancelled the peripheral scenery of Army Humvee and Hesco barrier walls.I could smell my elbow pads and feel the strain of skating used body parts in the old failure combinations coupled with the taste of sweat running down my face.--I was on a tennis court in Wanamie Pennsylvania-I was also in a penalty box in an ice rink in Pittston Pennsylvania, I was also in a large PX parking lot in Bad Kissengen Germany.
All those places were not linked by the act of skating. They were linked by the act of me in mental and physical dialog with me.
I'll explain.
When I'm skating it's a series of split second decisions that get strung together into one fluid act..like a jazz band. The mind pushes the body to do what is completely unnatural and improves upon each variation of any given task. Sometimes you get really hurt. But if you think about it , chances are even greater that you'll be hurt or worse yet become afraid of it.
It's like that trust group therapy thing where you fall backward and your friends catch you..this is how you do that- by yourself.
Looking up at that sky with this floating into my head i felt stronger and happy to a degree. but the thought faded leaving me with the certainty that there was a whole lot more to be revealed..

A day off sick. TV

Television is a medium....Remember that.
I burned a day off work today feeling under the weather(ear infection) and decided to spend the day in bed "getting better"watching TV with my 2 dogs curled up next to me-heat stealing bastards ha ha-and was compelled to comment on what I've seen.

1.FOX and CNN - in a duel to see who could break first any piece of useless info about a small airplane that crashed into a building in Texas. The story was tragic and a big deal..My beef with the networks was how rabid they poke and prod the responders and town officials for information. It was as if the phrase "that's all we know so far" is completely lost on them. It triggers a mechanism in a modern reporter to rephrase and Perry Mason spin already asked questions to trip up or introduce slight error into previously stated released info via people who are working difficult jobs and are probably under some stress about a given situation.

note**the material or technique with which an artist works.
2. Winter Olympics-All the world in a small fish tank showing wonderfully the beauty and stifling silliness of international affairs and basic human relations. Hockey is on and I'm saddened to see the NHL playing where College kids should be. USA and Korea have this strange tension about themselves on the speed skating ice strangely appropriate, and a mans death has highlighted how common sense can be trumped by hype and selling up of a ultra fast track..hint hint any track who has a turn called "50-50" by the worlds best is a hint something bad is coming and they did not see this?ugh.Least i seem sour Norway's Marit Bjoergen winning the gold in cross country sprint was the best finish line video so far, i felt her happiness/powerful
note** Television. with the principal actors in the middle distance
3.Preview Channel. How the Hell is it that The History channel,TLC,and Discovery are all obsessed with the end of the world?I've watched video simulations of world destruction least 12 times this year so far!Since the Mayans and Nostradamus have combined with asteroids and extreme weather I'm surprised kids even bother caring about their /our future anymore..or do they?note** person through whom the spirits of the dead are alleged to be able to contact the living.
